A research paper released by Watson Institute International & Public Affairs at Brown University titled, HIGH SUICIDE RATES AMONG UNITED STATES SERVICE MEMBERS AND VETERANS OF THE POST-9/11 WARS, found that 30,177 active duty personnel and veterans who served in the military after 9/11 have died by suicide - compared to the 7,057 service members killed in combat in those same 20 years.
Signed into law in OCTOBER 2020, the National Suicide Hotline Designation Act authorized 988 as the new three-digit number Veterans can CALL by dialing 988 and pressing 1 to contact the Veterans Crisis Line. We help non-profits and Veterans' associations raise funds. We are members of SLOW FOOD USA/INTERNATIONAL, founded in 1986, in Rome, Italy as Arcigola.
In 1989, the founding manifesto of the international Slow Food movement was signed in Paris, France, by delegates from ITALY, and 14 other countries from around the world. After 35 years, the SLOW FOOD MOVEMENT now boasts millions of members from more than 1,500 local chapters in more than 150 countries—focusing on clean, good, fair,
equitable, and SUSTAINABLE food.
We are also members of the American Legion , the Enlisted Assocation of the National Guard of New York (EANGNY) Auxiliary, a registered 501(c) non-profit organization, representing all Soldiers and Airmen in the New York National Guard, and the VFW Auxiliary.
We produced a year in advance the First Annual Haddonfield Gourmet Food Festival (which 10,000 people attended four days after 9/11) — produced the Susan G. Komen for the Cure® WOMEN OF THE VINE food & wine festival at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia (prior to opening season of the Phillies) — featuring Deborah Brenner and the Les Dames d'Escoffier International Philadelphia chapter of female star chefs — founded Catering Events and Caviar, in Schenectady, NY, and Caribbean Night at St. George's Episcopal Church in Schenectady, NY — we founded BATTLE OF THE BARTENDERS™ Philadelphia featuring Jerry Gross and Mark Stevens of The Dovells and TV celebrity and sportscaster judges, Homecrest Kitchens' 45th year Anniversary Open House, and a Nissan® Grand-Reopening Black Tie Gala, etc... Our "General Robert E. Lee" actor is a U.S. Army Veteran.
